The vistors taking in the delights at Hainault Vineyard and Winery

LOKA performing at Hainault Vineyard and Winery
David is a painter of contemporary impressionistic works primarily in watercolour. David began to exhibit his work in 1999 and received first prize in watercolour at the City of Gosnells/Rotary Art Award in 2000. He has been painting since 1992.
Largely self taught, he has found a passion in painting in an evocative, loose, free style. David uses the fluidity of the medium to create images of diffused light and lost edges, his work at times has a moody and elusive quality however in the past year he has painted large, bold, colourful pieces and is continually pushing the boundaries of the medium beyond the traditional clichés associated with watercolour. David's subject material is gleaned from the local envioronent as well as featuring figurative and portrait works. David strongly believes in a mission of beauty and is determined to have watercolour recognized as a medium to match the scale and permanence of oil. Consequently only the finest materials and framing is used to ensure his work remains in perfect condition, and an investment for generations. As well as finding healthy local interest, David's work is held in collections as far afield as the USA, UK, and Israel.
His work can be viewed at www.davidburge.org where information on current exhibiting venues is updated regularly.

Munda Biddi Bike Trail passes just 200 m from Hainault Vineyard- Western Australia's first long distance off-road cycle trail.
The Munda Biddi (which means path through the forest in the Nyoongar Aboriginal language) promises to become a world-class nature-based off-road cycling experience. There are few places left in the world where a 900-kilometre track could be built through an undeveloped natural corridor. Combine Western Australia's vast areas of unspoiled forests and bushland, gentle terrain, and year-round cycling weather, and you have the ideal setting for an off-road cycle trail. The Munda Biddi is a trail with something for everyone. There are sections of trail that will suit anyone's cycling ability and pace. The trail is easily accessible by car, so you can begin your journey wherever it is convenient. Different sections of the trail will be suitable for cyclists of all levels, with challenging loops and spurs to be added once the main trail is completed. And because the trail is completely off-road, you can enjoy the scenery while you safely cycle through the forest on the dirt track.
The Bibbulmun Track - The Bibbulmun Track is Western Australia's only long-distance walking trail and is one of the longest, continuously marked trails in Australia. It is named after a distinct Aboriginal language group, known as the Bibbulmun, who inhabited some of the areas on the south coast through which the track passes. It is marked by a stylised image of the Waugal (rainbow serpent), a spirit being from the Aboriginal Dreaming. This world-class, 963 km long-distance walktrail stretches from Kalamunda, a Hills suburb on the outskirts of Perth, to Albany, on the south coast.
